Participants will craft their own seed bombs and engage in a lasagna mulching demonstration, a method that enriches the soil for the upcoming spring blossoms.

BEE CURIOUS: Intro to Beekeeping #1

Are you interested in becoming a beekeeper? Curious about what goes on in a hive? Or just want to know what beekeepers do? Come join Riverbend Gardens Apiary - Master Beekeeper, Billy B as he gives you a guided tour of the inner workings of the beehive, answers your questions about bees, and introduces you to the wonders of beekeeping. This is the first in a series of workshops to help you achieve your goals of becoming a beekeeper. 

Beeing mindful of not just honeybees but of all native bees in NYS is one of the most important things to be curious about. Let’s scratch the surface of some of our favorite local pollinators and start the beekeeping journey. So let’s Talk Bees.

OH HONEY!: Taste of The Catskills

Have you ever stopped to think about the “flavor of honey”?

Join us for an immersive mini masterclass experience and delve into whats influencing our amazing upper delaware valley honey flavors. Honey Sommelier, Donna DeFalco of Riverbend Honey and Riverbend Gardens Apiary, will introduce you to our local honey show you why it’s so very special. Set in the beautiful Riverbend Gardens Highgarden, home to of many of the varieties that give Riverbend Honey its unique terroir and flavor. Different flowers means different flavors. This is the first time ever the honey in our region will have a side-by-side tasting. So come take “flight” with us and head to the garden! There is so much more to honey than tea and toast.
